We own a small Café about an hour away from this store. We drive to Augusta once a week to pick up necessities from a local warehouse club. We decided to check out the US Foods store, looking for items that we couldn't get at the warehouse store. We were happy about our decision. The pros about the Chef's Store are an interesting inventory mix; fresh produce, fresh meats, a sporadic selection of frozen goods, and a good selection of dry goods. The pricing is fair on the majority of the items but we always compare with our main supplier and the warehouse store. In my opinion, the main Con is that they stock more for home caterers, people that do food truck sales, and those who don't do brick and mortar sales. There are basics that are missing that would help make our visits to the store much more productive.

One of the latest grocery stores to emerge in the greater Augusta area, and another bulk-store to rival the likes of Costco and Sam’s club. There are items here that can satisfy the needs of various groups of individuals, such as families or restaurants and even businesses and churches. While majority of the items are typically in a bulk container or box, there are a good amount of items that are sold in smaller quantities that you would find at similar grocers such as Kroger or Walmart. Items vary from fresh produce to whole cuts of meat, to canned and packaged goods as well as frozen. There is also a selection of cleaning supplies and cooking utensils. However, one of if not the most notable flaws of the store is how narrow and cramped the aisles are. Since you are buying in bulk, you have to navigate the store with a very wide buggy or flat top. Due to the how narrow the aisles are, it’s essentially a “2 way road”, which causes hold ups and commotion between the customers agitated at each other. Considering how people of this area tend to flock to new businesses, this will probably be an issue for the following weeks from the opening date. A domino effect from the narrow aisles

Always a good start with a new business. If you own a food service business, or a vending business, this is where you probably want to get your supplies. They are not discounted by much - maybe a few cents less than Sam's Club - but variety is key. They will win in that category every time.

This store will be a game-changer with prices are excellent across the board, making it easy to stock up without breaking the bank. What really sets this place apart is the variety. You can buy a whole pig, lamb chunks, or duck in bulk, which is perfect for big events, restaurants, or anyone who loves to cook for a crowd. I was also impressed by the specialty items you don’t normally see in other stores, like fresh nopales (cactus paddles). The store is clean, organized, and clearly built with chefs and serious home cooks in mind, but anyone can shop here and find great deals. If you’re looking for bulk meats, unique ingredients, or just everyday items at great prices, this is definitely the place to go.

Double check your prices at the register. When a price tag/sign on the item in store says 'advertised special', you are getting duped. The picture that I'm including in my review shows that my item was supposed to be $9.99/lb but it rang up as 11.29/lb. Take pictures on your phone of the tags before you check out. Double check what you are actually being charged at the checkout because you're being lied to. I took a picture for this exact reason. The cashier told me that it was taken off and she lied right to my face. There was a 'discount' that appeared on the screen, but it wasn't until I got home that I saw on the receipt that I paid MUCH more than what was advertised. I used to be a grocery store stock crew, cashier, and front end manager. I carefully checked the UPC (bar code) with my item to confirm the price with what I was buying. I discussed it further with the cashier and I was still over priced. Stay vigilant folks.
